Dharamshala Prepares for IPL 2025 Matches

As the anticipation for the IPL 2025 matches at the HPCA International Cricket Stadium in Dharamshala grows, local authorities and law enforcement are intensifying security protocols. Matches are set for May 4, 8, and 11, with a strict ban on over 30 items from being brought into the venue.

The administration has clearly communicated the restrictions regarding match tickets and signage at entry points. Fans attending the highly awaited match between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on May 4 are urged to comply with these regulations.

Prohibited Items List

HPCA Secretary Avnish Parmar stated that the BCCI has established a list of banned items to ensure the safety of players, manage crowd behavior, and enhance overall stadium security.

Items on the prohibited list include pens, pencils, whistles, coins, helmets, cameras, bottles, cans, outside food and drinks, banners, posters, selfie sticks, drones, laptops, power banks, tobacco products, lighters, matches, wooden sticks, sporting balls, and even metal or silver bangles, which have previously gone missing during security checks.

Stadium Regulations and Security Measures

Smoking is strictly forbidden within the stadium, and attendees are advised to refrain from bringing any restricted items to avoid being denied entry. Food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the stadium.

To ensure safety and order, police personnel will be stationed at various locations around the stadium on match days. Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed at all major entry and viewing points to facilitate real-time monitoring, aiming to provide a seamless experience for the thousands of fans expected to attend.

Teams Arriving in Dharamshala

In preparation for the May 4 match, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant arrived in Dharamshala on Tuesday, accompanied by key support staff. Coaches Justin Langer, David Miller, and Mitchell Marsh arrived the previous evening. The remainder of the Lucknow squad is anticipated to arrive by May 1.

Punjab Kings, who have a match on April 30, will also reach Dharamshala on May 1. Both teams are scheduled to practice at the stadium on May 2 from 6 PM to 9 PM, during which they will evaluate pitch conditions and the quality of the outfield.
